dred Berry surprised every-
one with their announcement
of their wedding.
The Home Ec Class was
started at school and had a
total of sixteen junior and sen-
ior girls, Miss Cameron was
the instructor.
Frank Krumvieda adver-
tised a Shropshire sheepbuck.
A shower for Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Kostboth, Jr. was
given at the Paul Jerman
home.
The Harness Shop adver-
tised a used parlor furnace.
Specials at the O&R in-
cluded noodles, 15 cents/two
packages; peanutbutter, 25
cents/quart jar; tomato soup,
5 cents/can.
Jeb Olsen, a Freshman at DSU, is making Hawk
Nation proud! Olsen ran for 135 yards and two touch-
downs in a 63-27 Homecoming loss to Northwestern
September in Madison. It was Olsen's third 100 yard
game of the young season and first multiple scoring

Third Annual
Mary Basset
Tournament A Success
The third annual Mary
Basset Softball Tournament
on September 10 raised
$1,193.00 $300 has been set
aside in order to fund the
Montrose Elemenry School
field trip in May with the re-
mainder donated to Ryan and
Angie Kappenman to help de-
fray medical cost for their
son, Nicholas. A special
thank you to all six teams who
donated their entry fees and to
Nate and Josie who donated
the proceeds of concessions
for the day. A big thank you
to Juanita Sabers, Pat Petri
and Gene Struck for donating
their time that day. Thank
you to all the communities
who purchased ann bands in
honor of Nicholas. Addi-
tional wristbands are available
at the Office Bar. Thanks
everyone for making it a great
day ! !

Parade Help Needed
We are looking for volun-
teers to donate candy for
homecoming. Elementary
students each receive a bag of
candy after the parade.
If you are willing to do-
nate candy you can drop it off
at the school by Tuesday, Oc-
tober 4. Thank you!
